moon-lit dreams

January 20, 2011 23 comments

moon shine reigns over

silent contented sigh; wind

whispers in the night

sky above divine

stream of inspiration flows

moon rays shine over

moon shine reigns over

dreams roar to life ; court success

will to be strengthened

Dead Vlei 3

Image via Wikipedia

We sing in the dead of the night

Joining silently the night life melody

As the fear of the dark takes flight

We sing in the dead of the  night

Sweet harmony as we might

With nature we commit a felony

We sing in the dead of the night

Joining silently the night life melody

101

One on one

They lay

101

Flirting with the differences on their chests

One was flat

One was not

One on one they lay

Just like the 101 classes they needed some flashes

Of what really lay inside them, was it always cold at night

Or would that eventually change, maybe that difference on their chest

Was the key to their answers

As they lay one on one

Kissed shoes,

Thrown around,

Hit heads

Hints heard

This life as stone was too much for them

Only solace found was the difference in their chests

As they lay one on one

101

Stones

Unliving

Unbreathing

Lay side by side

One on one

On the drive way to the house

101

Thud! thud!

January 8, 2011 17 comments

Early morning

Draft of cold air chills the cheeks

Cocks crow

People are roused

Silent yawns

Rubbing of eyes

Staggered walk to the front door

Tools of trade in hand

Eyes adjusted to the daylight darkness

Feet pick a trail so long used

Headed south to the stone mine

Where the thud! thud!

Of the warm hug of stone and mallet

Wakes the villagers

The carvers are making their living

Moon-lit Sky

December 23, 2010 16 comments
I liked the moon and the light over over it. I...

Image via Wikipedia

I am

taken aback by the beauty

bent forward in delirious laughter

winking mischievously

sighing softly at the beauty inside me

I am

a lover of the night sky

a friend to the stars high

the seer of the galaxies running in the wild

I am

a friend to the singing crickets

a soulmate to the burning insect

the desire of the blind owl shunned by my fore-fathers

I am

the silent whistle of the tree

the loud silence in the night

the dark in the sky

I am

light

wind

darkness

all blended into one

I am of the dark night

I am Faith

little bird on the trees,
what are you doing at this time
take a bow and leave the show
it’s already past your time

Mind of an insomniac

January 13, 2010 Leave a comment

Sometimes I let my mind take over
the midnight mind I do not mind
And half the things my mind might mind,
don't really matter past the light of night
Sometimes I
allow a random Thought to cross the mind
that functions in the light of day
but the rest remain hidden hn the light of night

This mind shines most in the light of night
flirting with possibilities that would shy a knight
working out problems as they appear at night
as just numerous ways to fly a kite.
In this state of mind I got the might to be all that I might ever have
dreamt of,
get on the flight to my destination in dreams
take on the flight of steps to the highest light, so white and bright
, that which my mind may call a star
take off the 'b' in blight to create a light and brightly spread to
all at sight

In this state of mind, where might is mine, and right I use to correct
the plight
and flirt with the light of night
It's totally clear that the mind of an insomniac is a perfect getaway
to the spark we try to ignite all day

The Orion.

I am not a scientist (and to think I always wanted to be an astonaunt but that was before I got introduced to the performing arts then I realised am better off on earth than on some other planet) so I have no idea how the constellations work/are though I totally love watching the sky especially at night. It took me a whole year to see the fourth star of the orion.*Just found out the orion has 7 most visible stars* No matter who showed it to me i just couldn’t see it. Then on the 31st of Dec , I finally saw it and remembered the hundreds of things that I keep looking so hard for but never find… the solution is so obvious!

Like the fourth star of the Orion,
The logic of the situation eluded him,
Made him have sleepless nights,
Made him wonder deep into the day,
Made him lack reason in a way,
But not to be defeated he still searched,
Deep into his soul,
Ingrained in his memories,
Lay his answer,
The answer he had long sought
And failed to find
That which now tormented him
Made him have wakeful nights
Made him shun out the light
Made him forget his entire self
Made him wish the situation away.
But that was not to be
For in every waking moment
He saw not what he wanted
But all he always avoided
The truth of the matter hit him hard
And now it was time not to hide
With a new sense of hope
Without a trace of dope
He trudged into the future
From a past he couldn’t control!!!
